Sildenafil(Viagra) is a phosphodiesterase (PDE) inhibitor, which works by relaxing the blood vessels of the penis, allowing increased blood flow to the area. It can help men with erectile dysfunction (ED) and pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH).

The recommended starting dose for sildenafil is one tablet per day, as needed, approximately 30 minutes before sexual activity. The dose can be increased up to a maximum of three times daily.
If an overdose is suspected, the dose may be increased to three times daily.
Dosage may be adjusted based on response and tolerance to the medication.
Tadalafil may be taken with or without food.
Sildenafil is contraindicated in patients who have any of the following conditions:
• known hypersensitivity to the active substance or to any of the excipients of the tablet or capsule;
• known allergy to any of the excipients;
• known intolerance to sildenafil;
• history of priapism;
• heart failure;
• history of cardiac arrest;
• history of heart attack or stroke;
• history of pulmonary arterial hypertension;
• history of severe allergic reaction after taking sildenafil.
Other contraindications include:
• known hypersensitivity to any of the excipients;
• known hypersensitivity to tadalafil.
Patients should be advised to contact their healthcare professional immediately if they experience chest pain, shortness of breath, or sudden vision loss while using sildenafil.
It is important that patients follow their healthcare professional's instructions regarding the use of these drugs.
In patients with a history of priapism, the use of sildenafil is contraindicated. It is recommended that patients with a history of priapism use an adequate and safe method of contraception. Sildenafil can be used to treat symptoms of a pre-existing heart failure.
Patients should be advised to contact their healthcare professional if they experience persistent or severe dizziness, chest pain, or fainting after taking this medicine.
Patients should also be advised to inform their healthcare professional if they have ever had liver disease, a heart problem, or if they are taking nitrates.

In patients with severe liver disease, the use of sildenafil is contraindicated. It is recommended that patients with severe liver disease should consult their healthcare professional before taking sildenafil.

My own personal ED is not a big deal, it’s just that I was recently prescribed a dose of Sildenafil. It’s generic Viagra and it’s pretty much the same effect as Viagra and works great for ED. But when I’m not taking it, my blood pressure goes down and my heart goes down. I’m not going to get ED advice from my doctor. My wife and I have been having a lot of sex and it’s been getting in the way of our relationship. We’ve tried to be as helpful as possible but it doesn’t seem to be helping. My ED is affecting our ability to have a normal sex life, we’re trying to find the best ED treatment that suits our needs. (and I know it’s not ideal to take in-person tests to make sure ED treatment is the right fit for us, but we really don’t need to.) We’re also on nitric oxide donors and we’ve got a couple of pills that we’re taking to relieve that. My wife and I have also got blood pressure problems, but that doesn’t seem to be helping. The only other thing we’ve tried is adding a Sildenafil supplement to our diet. I don’t know how many people have been prescribed one or more of these supplements, but it seems to be helping. (Does this sound familiar? I don’t have any ED related questions. My wife and I are on a low dose of 50mg of Sildenafil to try and keep our ED healthy, but that doesn’t seem to be helping any.)It looks like the ED supplement in the pill might be helping too. What did you get?This is by far the best ED supplement out there. It does an amazing job of relaxing the blood vessels in the penis and giving you a more defined erection. I am not really sure what this supplement is supposed to do either. Does it give you a hard, strong erection? Or does it make it harder? The only thing that does seem to work is by relaxing the blood vessels in the penis and making you have more blood flow. I would think of this supplement as helping some, but it will not do me much good. It may not be helping any of us at all.
The only other supplement I’ve had trouble with was Stendra which I took a couple of times a week for a couple of months. It did help my ED a little bit but has not been as much of a big deal. I’m not sure if it’s because of the supplement, or the in-person tests I’ve been getting or something. It just seems to be helping. I’ll probably try Stendra to see if that works. I’m really not sure what’s causing the problem. Any ideas?Thanks!
